Marisa Pierson

Treasurer

Marisa served for 15 years as the Project Director of the Rutgers Dance Symposium Series at the Price Institute at Rutgers’ Newark campus. She also facilitated the Institute’s public programs including the Marion Thompson Wright Lecture Series, the state’s largest and oldest Black History Month conference. Marisa joined the Institute in Newark following 14 years managing a variety of University Relations projects at Rutgers-New Brunswick campus.

Prior to Rutgers, Marisa worked at a number of radio and television commercial and noncommercial broadcast facilities in Harrisburg and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As a retiree, Marisa is traveling the world with her husband, Ron. She volunteers for her local animal rescue group in Burlington County and with the Dance Advisory Board at NJPAC. She also serves on the Board of the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company.

Marisa has studied, taught and performed Middle Eastern Dance at various community events, and continues to study and expand her dance knowledge today.
